No mistake

You gotta start somewhere!

Chip off the ol’ block.

Yes it is. Like father, like son. Yor future looks positively grim.

You’re doing a lot of learning. Now remember what you learn.

If that’s true, Wilberforce, then your dad is the most highly educated man in the world.

I’ve been rewatching the miniseries Victoria. In it Bertie, the heir apparent to the throne, is having trouble with his studies. As the young actor portrays Bertie it is apparent that he has a vision defect, possibly dyslexia. But, I’m not certain such a diagnosis even existed in the Victorian era.

He has mistaken that for learning.

Like father like son.

The nut does not fall far from the tree.

It’s the wise person that learns from their mistakes.

I was a history major, I try to learn from others mistakes. Unfortunately, we rarely take those lessons to heart.

sounds great… and how do you stop making so many mistakes?

Sounds like Wilberforce gonna make a politician for sure.

In my career in corrections I’ve witnessed the effects of the students from the University of Hard Knocks. It’s the same as the Israelites going around the same mountain for 40 years.

At least he learned something!

So long as you don’t make the same mistake more than once.. eventually, you win unless you die first. Life sucks for some.

Chip off the old block for sure.

With a lot to learn…

He forgot to say the next line, “and I learned that I have to study more.” He gets that part down and he will do okay……

He also learned you don’t get good grades for mistakes.

Brutus: You can learn from your mistakes?

He did learn something. He is not above admitting that he is not perfect.

I also had a teacher who told me we learn from our mistakes. At a certain point in my life, I realized that I must be the smartest guy in the world.

Actually, I think we learn from experience, which reminds me of this little gem:

Experience is a teacher,

But here’s what makes me burn:

She’s always teaching me the things

I do not care to learn.

Mistakes happen.

I was a lot older than Wilberforce when I learned that.
