This is pretty typical of conversations with Spouse. “What’s for supper?” … “Food”. And if I push she gets annoyed. Or if I try “Can I help fix supper” the answer is pretty often “Yes.” Without further elucidation. Of course the ever popular “Do you know where the Widgit is?” with the response “In the garage”. There are 10K things in the garage. Or occasionally just “yes”. She didn’t USED to be quite that bad, but then I’m getting older too, so I try to cut her some slack… hoping for payment in kind.
After nearly 60 years together, lots of what once were questions of discovery and preferences have become the kind that pretty much answer themselves. We enjoy that feeling.
At least you are talking to her Earl.I tell my husband when I get him irritated at least we are talking, we ran out of anything to speak, except this time little different. I keep this really short and update. Fell in May fractured lower hip in walking with dogs, Orthopedic, then messed up and fracture broke found out through x-rays at Orthopedic, doing way different, another x-ray no pressure on left leg use walker and hop, next x-ray Dr. said just slight pressure on left leg a little light, asked for PT, granted, really excited PT starts this week. PT has to contact Orthopedic my status. I do not want to cause any more damage on left bone. Hurt bad when doing x-ray because of position. If you got confused you do not need to ask questions. I learned not what to do and doing what is required. I go back in 3 months to Orthopedic next x-ray, I hope I advanced more. Ask Dr. how long takes bone to heal 2 years. Again no cast or surgery can be done.

You just never know when a crochet project changes mid construction. Scarves do take longer to make than tea cozies.

Sometimes you just don’t know what kind of influence your words can have on your spouse.

I don’t think you should make your tea too cozy.

Wait till you see her pull it apart from one string and it automatically re-forms a ball of yarn.
