Not enough family. I used to devote all my spare time in November and December and before Easter fixing up the dinner and house for the holidays. Labor Day and Memorial Day took about a week each. My son and my brother both died of Covid, and the empty chair is so painful to me, that entire process has become a burden instead of a joy. What I would give to have “too much family” again.

I don’t like autumn. For me it’s a lot of mandatory time critical work getting the leaves off the lawn so the grass doesn’t die and such. But beyond that, it becomes darker, everything starts to die back and it’s sad. I do love the spring, though, when things come to life and the skies brighten. Sort of a rebirth. And it passes all too quickly.

S.A.D. S.A.D …! when i was a bit younger i loved Fall..all the beautiful colors…crisp air and apples….now as i grow older i hate raking leaves and shoveling snow and the lack of sun and sunshine so much Spring has become my fave Season…farthest away from fowl weather and Sunlight is always growing and getting longer… My Dad used to say… ’ First you get the Fourth of July and Then it Snows…’ He was right …Time and day light seem to vanish quickly …Especially in the Fall …..

Yes Lila, I can explain. You see you have an overly exaggerated passion for shoes with an under exaggerated bank account. The holidays mean that you will, unfortunately, have to spend money on others, thereby depriving you of the funds that you so desperately want to spend on shoes. The medical term for it is selfishitius.
