[long] Back in the day, a newly minted 2nd Lieutenant shows up at his base. The NCO in charge of the BOQ asks if he wants to subscribe to the Sunday New York Times. The new guy figures that he’d better, because obviously all the other officers want to be well informed. Turns out, the other officers threw away the entire paper except for the magazine section, which had color ads for ladies’ underwear.
