    Good morning™, everyone!

Well, there’s your guilty parties. They’re getting away — now the chase (but it will be a short chase). So they copied all the artifacts! That would have been a big job to do.

One of the less mysterious Minit Mysteries, what with spontaneous confessions (at least to us). I guess it will be more of a howdunit versus whodunit.

Good morning™, birds poised to fly !

Will Jett live long enough to enjoy his ill gotten gains ?  My first thought is that he will not be making any meeting but going off with his treasure, to keep all for himself. Wren may be getting wrenched.

“foolproof”?Like with Tracy or not, with all those cops knocked out the first thing you would do is check whether the artifacts were still real …..

You’d think they would have had far easier opportunities to steal them, too…..

I thought that the whole point of the “Minit Mysteries” was that we were presented clues to solve the crime before the detective pointed out the criminal in the last strip. Not that the criminal(s) would expose themselves two strips before the end.

It appears the whodunnit “minit mystery” has been replaced with the question of what exactly Basil and Wren think went wrong. Did they somehow believe an entire museum of cops being gassed unconscious wouldn’t be investigated at all? Seems to me the only thing that went wrong with the criminals’ “foolproof plan” is their own baffling choice to stick around instead of leaving with their loot immediately.

Wait a minute … if the artifacts are fakes, why are Basil & Wren taking them? And after the guards were found gassed, one of the first things Tracy said was to have the artifacts checked for their authenticity. Why are the police only learning now that they’re fakes? It’s like the writer is making the story up every day.

Although Tracy ends today’s strip saying to bring Wren and Basil in, it is doubtful these two forgers will be arrested right away. It will take a few hours to locate and apprehend the forgers, and they won’t be booked at the police station till early tomorrow morning. Tracy knows this, and he will spend the night sleeping at the station. He will still be a little sleepy when the forgers are brought in early in morning, but drinking that MCU coffee will wake him up. Tracy has his own personal MCU cup, that no one else drinks from but him. Tracy will drink from his coffee cup while interrogating the two forgers. Tracy knows the best part of waking up is forgers and your cup.

That’s Fakay’, as in Joe Bubba Fakay’, a much-cherished barn painter and sculptor of the tres outre. Why, some of his pieces have brought in two figures (nickel and a penny).

His Moose Caught In A Screen Door wowed the critics, who said they had nevernevernevernever seen anything like it. At a lavish soiree at the local feed store, it went for a pretty penny (a ’47 wheat one, too!) THEY MUST BE PROTECTED!

Taking a week’s vacation from work. And since I follow things on my work computer, you shant be hearing from my majestic self until Tuesday October 11th.(I’ve been hanging around Vitamin Flintheart too long).

Staton did a great job on Jett—-you kept waiting for him to be blown away by the wind.

So much for the Minit Mystery, with these up-front admissions by Wren and Basil. Seems as though Anita Baker was not part of this scheme and is in fact innocent. Jett and Christopher won’t be getting to Paris, though, since (somehow) Tracy knows they are the guilty ones and is having them brought in.

Meanwhile, Sam looms large in panel 3 as he informs Tracy of what “the museum curators” say about the artifact fakery. But what curators are these? The museum had brought in three supposed specialists in this ancient culture, and none of them are at the museum nor doing these evaluations. So, who is? And if someone on the museum’s own full-time curatorial staff is capable of declaring the displays to be fakes, why were Jett, Christopher, and Baker necessary in the first place?
