Whelp we’re likely getting a sequel at some point as the Seagull thing was never resolved, nor was how they actually got together. And i’m okay with that as this was one of the best stories Will’s ever done. If you see this nice job man. I love your strip in general but this was next level. Also not suprised Sterling sleeps with his eyes open. Scared for life but not suprised.
When I was a kid at summer camp, one of my fellow campers slept with his eyes open. The counselor had instructions from the kid’s parents to close them for him.
Sometimes I fall asleep with my eyes open. One time, when I was a kid, I fell out of the top bunk. Mom rushed in when she heard the thud, and there I was, on the floor, not moving (still asleep) with my eye open! Mom thought I was deceased!
The story was fun! Thank you, Will Henry!I wonder how much of it Wallace will remember the next morning and how much he will think was in a dream of his.
When Dad backs out of the kids’ room, Mom will be standing in the hallway, dripping wet. It will be unclear whether she just got out of the shower. However, it will be equally clear that it’s not raining outside.
I’m OK with some loose ends being unaccounted for. Pets wander off, often never found; lost items that never show up. Friends pass through portals to unknown worlds and (after)lives. Children get used to accepting continued mysteries.

Sterling’s faking it. When Dad leaves the room, he’ll get up, grab a lobster trap, and go looking for mermaids at the local bait shop.

My Mum says I often fell asleep with my eyes open as a toddler, scared the living daylights out of her many times as I was also a deep sleeper

It is possible to sleep with one’s eyes open, but it’s not good for the eyes (they get dry).

I’m sure the Absolutely True Adventures of Dad will return someday with the rescue of Patchy the Seagull.
