We’re constantly jumping around between universes, but the universes to which we jump are those most similar to our own so we never know it.
I woke this morning into the universe where Seamus McGinty of County Cork, Ireland, had 346 cornflakes in his bowl at breakfast; in my present universe he had 373 (it was a pretty big jump).
