I stopped watching all sports while the kids were growing up. It just wasn’t worth it to try. I would always miss big games. A couple of years ago I slowly started to watch football (once a week, shouldn’t get in the way of much and the kids are all in their 20’s). This year my wife looked at me on a Sunday my team was playing and asked me if I was coming with her to pick something up. I looked at her, asked her what time she was leaving & she told me 11:30-12:00. I told her no, I’m going to be watching the game. She came home just as the game was ending. We both were happy.
It was Father O’Shaughessy’s turn to hear confessions. It was also the day of the Notre Dame vs. Army game. Determined not to miss the game, he decided to stream it on his phone with his earbuds.
Later, one of the parishioners wondered if the priest really heard his confession.
“Why do you ask?”
“Instead of 5 Hail-Marys & absolution, he penalized me 15 yards!”
A former teacher once said that football in slow motion looks like ballet. Maybe she was trying to get boys interested in ballet. So maybe the dance recital should show the game to the audience, then interpret the slow motion replays.

Be no different Wanda, if you go to a football game and listen to opera on your earbuds.

busted. Like I commented yesterday, if watching on the cell phone, no cheering, or groaning over bad plays or ref calls.

They are there attending the recital. What they listen to doesn’t matter. Zoe won’t know anyway.

No reason they can’t multitask, watch the dance recital and listen to the game.
