Out of context you can’t tell, when someone is talking, if they’re saying pair, pare, or pear. Or they’re, there, or their. So I’m not sure it would have been clear when Joe said it. You need to see it written out to be clear.
My husband is an editor. He sees this all the time, and gets very irritated by it.When he’s not working, he will often wear a T-shirt that says; “There, Their. They’re not the same”.
My parents just screamed at me while I was trying to study and do my homework, then they were mad at me for not doing well. No wonder I’d cry during tests.

The one that really gets me is when people spell “neighbors” as “nabors.”

Good parenting – don’t get angry; help to solve the root of the problem. It also helps if the answers are printed on the back of the cutout ;-)

Could someone provide examples of homonyms in other languages for me. Thanks in advance.

Never use homophones during a spelling bee.

What do you call “Live” and “Live”? Spelled the same. Pronounced differently. As in… “I live for live concerts.” Stupid language we got hear!
