In fact, you shouldn’t even stand there, Phoebe. If Marigold were to thrash her head back, you could be in a world of hurt. Or maybe an end to all pain.
Ahh breaking the 4th wall for the very first time I have ever seen in the series.
A very new approach from Dana.
I would have thought the characters might eventually ask themselves if they were real or just little drawings in a book.
Now here’s a question for everyone.
How many of you have questioned if your life might just all be something like a big movie and there was somehow a 4th wall and you felt like you were possibly laughed at when something unfair or stupid happened to you.
Or you just wished the lousy movie would end and life would get real and turn out right.
actually if life was all a movie it might be destined to turn out better than if it were real.
As for Marigold mentioning dangerous from both ends I wonder what all the possibilities she is implying about.
She has hooves at both ends as well as her horn and magic powers.
Or is it something more different like how her tail might be dangerous in some way or another.
It makes sense you don’t want to stand at either end of a horse which may spook and you certainly don’t want to try to spook it.
Horses sleeping are extremely vulnerable and are most easily spooked.
After all this time I wonder if unicorns are less fearful than horses or if they even have the same fears as horses.
I thought this might be a rerun because the character designs in the 2nd and 3rd panels (and even Marigold in panel 4) remind me of the older strips. I suppose it’s just the angle of Phoebe’s face.
“Unto whom are you talking.” Yah yah, I know, Grammar Police go away. But I also imagine unicorns would talk like that. And Phoebe might want to stand back a bit more.

I had never seen Phoebe break the fourth wall before, and I’m pleasantly surprised Marigold had the same reaction as me.

If Phoebe were successful, Marigold might be inclined to turn her into a sentient Jack in the Box for a half hour or so.

So Phoebe is talking to the folks on the internet. In-universe of course.
Seriously, though, would any magical creatures in-unverse notice the 4th wall?

I understand the head of a startled-awaked, sleeping unicorn can be dangerous, but how so with the backside thereof?

Don’t try this at home

Won’t the Sheild of Boringness effect any video you record?

Never wake a sleeping unicorn else you could suffer a “Steve Irwin” incident. Google it.

I just pictured Peekaboo’s reaction to such an assault.
Fortunately, Pasquale is a nice kid.

Danger ahead!

Hoo-boy! Now I hope Phoebe still have Kiki’s broomstick for a quick escape… along with her poofy panties to cushion the blows from the kicks!

Remember Calvin’s words of advice: “I always forget five of his six ends are pointy when he does that.”
