I lived in a town with a long french name when disco was at it’s peak. While the locals were drinking it up in the C&W bar up the hill, I embraced disco and learned to dance and wear rather strange garb. That said, I got to KNOW a great many of the towns unmarried lass’s after a night of tearing up the dance floor. Disco was an alluring medium to convince many to deny their Catholic upbringing, if you get my drift.
Discaux was wiped out by fever, but the stone – or rock – age had a virulent strain of pneumonia, which carried the colloquially termed boogie-woogie flu alongside it

“I got fire in my mind
I get higher in my walkin’
And I’m glowin’ in the dark
Give you warnin’….
-
Sweet Cave woman
She moves through the light
Controlling my mind and my soul
When you reach out for me
And the feelin’ is right
-
Night fever, night fever
We know how to do it
Gimme that night fever,
night feverWe know how to show it"

Get Fuzzy goes months without a really good joke, then it pulls off a series like this that is just sheer genius day after day for a week.

I never figured Bucky as part of the polyester brigade. Saw him more in step with Public Image Limited, the Stranglers, Black Flag, etc. Oh well……
