The dawn of a new age, he has much to gain, there’s more joy in him now. Palmolive that from washing the dishes.

Well Adam, no that she’s an established, successful author, it’s time to pull a little more weight with the household chores

Is this his way of saying he “has a headache”?

MORE dishes means a deferral of … couple time…

Careful Adam. I do all the dishes ALL the time. It doesn’t bring me any appreciation; just higher expectations!

Is it possible that Adam has finally realized he has no talent as a writer and has resigned himself into being a househusband??

HAHAHAHA! Just like in OUR house! I didn’t even realize it, but every time my husband is working, I tell him how much I love him or how sexy he is. I guess he noticed because now every time he tackles the “Honey Do” list, he asks me, “Am I still the sexiest boy in the class?” LOL!

We have a fridge magnet that has “No man was ever shot by his wife while he was washing the dishes” printed on it. Hubs was raised in a family where Pops told the kids that their Mom was working a job to help them all have a better life. He was working a job to help them all have a better life. So their job, was to help that along by doing chores. They all learned how to wash dishes, dust, vacuum, clean bathrooms, change sheets, rake leaves, mow lawns, etc. So dishes have always been a shared chore with us, and we handle everything else as needed.

For the first 30 years we were married I did all the housework & worked full time plus as an accountant – though much of that time I worked from home or out at clients after my dad, who I worked for, died. Husband worked in office if not 9-5 generally 8:30 to 5 or such. I did all the housework, took the vehicles to the mechanic, did the food shopping, etc. I did not mind, I enjoyed it all – except the actual cleaning.

At my suggestion he took a leave of absence from work as he was suffering from terrible burn out with the idea of seeing what it would be like if he quit his job & we concentrated on our side business in crafts. He felt better, did not go back to work, craft business has never caught on & I was working full time plus & doing all the housework – & did not mind as he gets in the way while doing housework. (Down to one business client these years & 3 tax clients – another died 2 years ago, so not so much working anywhere near full time, barely part time.)

As we have aged (even before Covid) he started helping out. I really wish he would not help out. He always wants to do things differently. Examples – “Why do we need to put out things for recycling – let them sort it all.” I am still the better driver, but before the pandemic I drove once a month to my remaining client, once a month to my embroidery meeting plus once a year to a tax client (others mailed info to me), and once a year to synagogue for annual prayers for my late father. In the past 3 years I have driven one of our vehicles to or from our mechanic – 3 blocks away – for state inspection or repair 4 times (when we did not want to walk there/home due to weather) and I have driven our RV (Chevy van) to and from the generator co that has to service it in the next county (he has trouble driving it alone) when we needed same while he drove our car so we could go somewhere while they worked it on it. I really miss driving, but he suffers from motion sickness so he has to drive.
