I assume this was what it was like when they first tried to change his name from Spot.

I knew all those times Garfield kicked Odie off the table would catch up with him.

If there’s a competition, between Odie and Jon, in stupidness, I’d call it a draw.

Odie got a little confused because of all those kicks he has received from Garfield over the years.

Maybe Odie thinks he’s Garfield.

No need to reinvent dumb. Just let it play out.

Perhaps Odie had been kicked off the table once too often.

It always looks weird to me when Odie walks around like a human. Garfield is different – he’s been heavily anthropomorphized. But Odie is a dog, and acts like one. He can’t talk He shouldn’t be walking around on his back legs.

Odie isn’t THAT dumb.He has responded to his name many times.If he is dong this, take him to Liz’s office right away!

Low self esteem issues at play here.

Where’s Lyman when you need him? I’m sure that he could help set Odie straight about who he is.

As a teacher I relate to this sometimes.

Jim Davis feline prejudice side is evident, alright.

Homer Simpson comes to mind. I recall that he once went into the witness protection program under the name “Homer Thompson.” The federal agent addressed him by his new name (“How are you, Mr. Thompson?”) so he’d get used to it, but Homer didn’t even turn around, just sat there doing nothing. Guess Odie is maybe a little bit smarter than Homer.

GOSH…ODIE IS REGRESSING! HE DOESN’T EVEN KNOWS HIS NAME ANYMORE!!! too much falls from the table after a kick.

It’s like trying to tell him to sit. Good luck with that. It took Odie three days just to learn how to breathe.
