My wife and I watch the a cappella group Straight No Chaser Christmas Special. They have a funny take on the Christmas songs. For your enjoyment and hopefully amusement.
I used to praise XM radio channel 25 (classic rock) because it was a refuge from xmas noise. Now DJ Hunter is playing xmas music during his radio time. Boo!

Which means you’ll probably be back by the time they get to the twelve drummers drumming…

I just love Straight No Chaser’s version, with John Denver and the Muppets in second place.

Well, at least it’s not The Little Drummer Boy.

You could be listening to: “Wonderful Christmastime” – proof that Paul McCartney can lay an egg musically… ;-)

I worked in a restaurant and was trapped when the Muzak would play songs I hated.

Heard a nice bluegrass inspired cover of “Jingle Bells” yesterday.

I think the Christmas song length of 12 days of Christmas might have been challenged by Harry Connick Jr

12 verses, 364 gifts. Take Wally with you. Could Blue Christmas, or All I Want For Christmas Is You be far behind?

The only good version of that song was by John Denver and the Muppets. Even with Miss Piggy vamping it up.

The only version I willingly sit through is the one by John Denver & the Muppets.

And hope it isn’t on shuffle play or repeat at the station.

I prefer the “12 Days After Christmas”.
“The second day after ChristmasI pulled on the old rubber glovesAnd very gently wrung the necksOf both the turtle doves.”

Geesh, I HATE that song!!!!!

While I can tolerate that song, I prefer the Allan Sherman version, The Twelve Gifts of Christmas:
“On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me”
“A Japanese transistor radio.”
Google it for the full experience.

I like that song. I don’t like Santa Baby or Last Christmas. One is about greed. One is about a pathetic co dependent.
