Oh gawd yes! This reminded me that today, December 1st is the first day of winter here in the northern hemisphere! Meteorological winter not astronomical winter. I don’t know why the scientists insists that winter only begins 3 days before Christmas. Because it is the shortest day (light) of the year? Really do you notice any difference between today and 20 days later?

70 deg is cold to kids these days and 80 is too hot.

Not all penguins live in cold climates. Those that live in South Africa and the Galapagos for example rarely feel cold.

Could it be “Chilly Willy” from the cartoons?

It’s so cold that she didn’t even notice the penguin they just passed.

Wonder if it was Chilly Willy they saw, or perhaps Tennessee Tuxedo???

Good ole’ Wilberforce Thronapple, soon he will be just like Brutus, telling everyone how he had to walk to school in the snow, up hill, both ways, even in the summer.

last year my wife was preparing for surgery to repair the heel she’d just broken. she hasn’t broken anything yet this winter and that makes the gale winds and blowing snow seem a whole lot less significant…
