Apparently Raisin Tamales are a thing. That’s the problem with “Mexican” restaurants in the US, you rarely get a chance to eat authentic Mexican cooking, prepared the Mexican way, using Mexican ingredients. What you get is American cooking, done in a Mexican style.
It’s the same for Chinese, Japanese, whatever. Which is a real shame.
It took me many years of trying to convince everyone not to buy me ANYTHING. We stopped getting together with our families after we had bed bugs and could not bring ourselves to go to anyone’s house or have them in ours.
After that it was just my husband I had to convince. I had started trying to convince him not to waste money and buy me anything even before the bed bugs, but it took a long while due to all the jokes on TV shows, in movies, and in comics about wives not meaning it when they say “I don’t want anything, so don’t buy me anything.” Finally I was able to convince – no more money wasted on things I don’t need or want – and other than basics such as food and new jeans/sneakers when the old ones wear through – there is nothing I want or need.

Who else would like a tamale with raisins (even if stored in the freezer for one year)?

If they taste bad, people will think that Tia Carmen is a bad cook.

I don’t like raisins. I would have pitch those tamales into the trash. Not froze them.

Looks like their freezer needs defrosted and cleaned out! I do that every year in the fall.

My mom would love a raisin tamale, and so would I, but perhaps a degree or two warmer than that…

Raisin tamales? Must be a Cuban/South Floridan thing.
