A former co-worker of mine had invited a number of us from the office to her wedding. I was talking to one lady and asked if she knew the bride. She said, “I think so—I’m her mother.” Oops!

She can’t possibly be that dumb.

Some people (at one time me included) that book writing was a hobby or done after working at their job all day.

Have a little sympathy for Opal. She’s an old lady (like me) and, after a long wait, probably forgot what she was in line for.

I can’t believe Opal made this tactless remark to this author. The man is obviously a writer, and it is a book signing that she is attending.

He writes books, Opal.

I stood in line for 3 hours, (the first and last time), for Ann Rice to sign three of my books, she had written. She chatted with me briefly and was such a lovely person! RIP When in New Orleans, I visited her house and saw her pooch at the gate☺️

I have wondered how often this sort of thing happens. As another person wrote, people will join a queue just to see what the heck is going on. FOMO.

There’s one at every book signing.

It seems everyone is an author these days, with few being actual authorities on anything, and the sensationalized book titles tell you nothing of the substance of the book at all. I think Opal may have a valid question there.

Opal just wanted to meet the guy, unknown what he writes.Reminds me of an author that was waiting to sign on his book’s, I do not think any woman was there, I asked him what he written, then I was not interested.There is a woman I have watched on Judge show that did write a book on her experiences, this I did buy as I watch the court show, she tells it like it is, there was other women also wanting her signature. I told her if she been on OJ Simpson trial been over fast. That is how long been. That bookstore closed more then 5 years ago. For this Judge Saturday was only day she came to our city and a TV station slated to interview her was there, they used my book she signed to help promote her book.
