I called this about two weeks ago, and like I said back then…I’m done with this strip. Its been fun guys…but I’m outta here…adios tostitos! Y’all may still have my email so you can contact me thru there for updates on my own (much better written, and respectful to the characters) story…my Twitter account got shut down and if ya have Facebook look me up under Timmy Sullivan…I’m standing next to Captain America in my profile pic
Apparently Blaze takes her coffee black like her women !!! This is a reference to Airplane The Movie where the child tells the other child that she takes her coffee black like her men !!!
Lee and Blaze have become quite the domesticated couple already. Sharing a print copy of the newspaper over breakfast in their robes. Of course the headline from the Daily IS important to carry on the storyline.
The Daily News portrayed reminds me of the old New York Daily News with the squares on each side of the tile page, one square said 15 cents I forgot what the other said! I read Dick Tracy in that paper years ago!
Apparently in protest over a Christmas movie that depicted a gay couple romance, three leading ladies at The Hallmark Network have left their contracts—-Danica McKellar,Jesslica Lowndes, and Candace Cameron Bure
Bure accepted a “chief creative officer” position at the Great American Family Network—-“which will keep traditional marraige at the core”..
If the artist painter doing a forgery is that good that it can be mistaken for being genuine. he deserves to make some top money for it, even if it is found to be not genuine.
The Daily, Tracyville’s answer to the Chicago Tribune or Chicago Sun-Times, seems to be a broadsheet (as opposed to a tabloid) and therefore more similar at least physically to the Tribune. Both the Sun-Times and the New York Daily News (in which The Tracy strip first appeared) are tabloid-format papers….
Be that as it may, the domesticity of morning coffee with Lee Ebony, Blaze Rize, and Goodnight the cat provides a simple setting or framework for the forgery reveal via news headline. I suppose it could alternately have been a TV news chyron, but the print version makes for greater legibility in the comic strip.
Since nobody in the Dick Tracy Universe has ever forged a painting, much less been caught doing so; since nobody cares about provenance; since there are no techniques for validating a painting’s age and creator, how can Art Dekko’s scheme possibly fail? /s

Good morning™, all!
So the painting has now been “discovered”! Even Lee is impressed. I suppose that’s the first step to selling it for mega-bucks.

well, that was quick work by Paul and then a quick discovery… I wonder if some lengthy time has passed between recent installments… HAD to have been…

Definitely a slow news day in Tracyville if that’s the headline.
How long before Mike starts telling us who to vote for?

Good morning™, Black Beauties !
I don’t believe I’ve ever seen ‘this side’ of Lee’s hair :-o. Blaze will throw cold water on that painting in short order.

Amazing that Mike can be so 21st century in his understanding. of social mores, yet so 20th century in his depiction of how people receive news.

I hear that it was recovered off an old hard drive that da Vinci designed centuries ago!

The cat appears to know that the painting is a hoax. (Or else, it just swallowed a canary.)
