all work and no play makes Grandpa a dull boy

I make messes in the kitchen that I get yelled at for too.

Earl & Opal are like Salt & Pepper

he’s crusty and somewhat bitter – she’s spicy and hot tempered

When Mom wanted to criticize my dad she called him “your father”, At all other times, she used his name.

My Grandpa used to say “You gotta take the bitter with the sweet”! Miss him!

I consider part of the cooking process is washing the items used in preparing a meal — pots, pans, measuring cups, stirring spoons, etc. I can’t relax until those things are washed and, if possible, put back into their correct locations.

My father, and now my son, go only part way. They pile things in the sink in sudsy water to “let them soak.” Then they forget about them, and many hours later when the water is cold and loaded with loose food particles I can’t stand it and finish the washing. And then they say, “I was going to do that, you didn’t have to!” Grrrr.

Gives a little context to yesterday where Nelson was receiving opposite viewpoints!
