so, Calvin, what was the moral of this battle?

Is this the final Stupendous Man story? If so, I wonder if Mom confiscated his costume for good.

I was hoping that it was some an eclectic history test and that he would get full marks.

He didn’t fail the test. Stupendous Man did!

I’ve often wondered if Calvin will ever make it to the next grade.

“Has Stupendous Man EVER won a battle?” One of my favorite lines.

He still failed after all those brilliant answers? Must have been a really tough test.

You’d get straight A s for being the most annoying brat!!!!

If you search “Calvin and company cartoon” you can see what happens to Calvin, Susie, and Miss Wormwood.

“They’re all moral victories”…I don’t think those would have worked in the MCEU movies…

I thought Stupendous Man flunked the test?!

If Mom’s smart, she’d burn the costume. That thing’s cursed, I tell ya! CURSED!!

Kids will have a great time retelling this Calvin story. They will re-enact it, modify it, and channel the teacher.

Stupendous Man has a costume? Looks more like work clothes to me.

Keep telling yourself that, Calvin. One day you’ll realize doing the work in the first place is less work than to go through all these shenanigans and still flunk the test! ☹️

some days it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed.

Minor detail, as long as you had the moral victory.

Kids that age should not be graded… the teacher should administer tests just to see who needs more help…. and learning at that age should not be a competition!

Also.. competition in higher grades to get higher marks to get into college is no longer an advantage… since they consider things like your race, or sexual identity or other unfair means of attaining “equality”…

Being a hero won’t win you points in the academic aspect.

YAY! Hobbes is finally back to bring Calvin back to reality…

Now that was a stupendous flunk.

Maybe he flunked the test because he put all the right answers in the wrong places.

At least here, the Mom taking away Calvin’s Stupendous Man costume is justified, compared to that October 1989 Stupendous Man story arc where the Mom takes it away after finding Calvin playing in his closet after having removed the costume when he was supposed to be doing his homework. And then in February 1991 when Stupendous Man drops a large snowball on Susie from a tree, she just threatens to take it away. And I guess Calvin ended up giving the right answers to the wrong questions on the test, without even glancing at the questions!

Stupendous Man couldn’t even spell Stupendous, let alone pass the test.

This story arc was fun. But seriously, Calvin has himself to blame. He should have studied to get just a passing grade at least, rather pulling a stupid stunt like he did and calling it a ‘moral victory’.

I still love the back of Calvin’s head.
