“The truth will set you free” refers to your conscience not actual freedom. Not sure how much of a conscience Hammie has at this age. I didn’t, and when I wasn’t caught an punished I forgot about the incident. Now I look back and think, “Boy, what was I thinking and how stupid could I have been”.
