George Carlin used to say the expression should be “a near hit.” You intended to miss it and you did, but just barely, “nearly hitting it.”

If he had landed in Biloxi, it would have been a perfect Miss.

Could be worse, could have been aiming for Biloxi and landed in Roswell, NM.

If he said he was in Biloxi, it would be a Miss-statement.

Well, at least they’re still Mobile to fly there.
