While I agree with the sentiments of this cartoon too many people believed and still believe that Trump was/is the answer. That is NOT true.

Make bribery via donations a chargeable offence for both donor and politician with heavy jail terms both for federal and state, problem solved.

The GOP was calling for Biden’s head. Now it’s, “We have a problem.”

Those ignoring major problems are the .Gop! They’d rather waste their time and our money on irrelevant investigations, while they collect all the bribe money from NRA, big corps, big pharma and Monsanto, etc. Meanwhile the country is in ruins with mass shootings and couldn’t care less‼️☹️

Back in the 60s, when there were lots of demonstrations, some of which were pretty close to rebellions, there were people on the left who advocated armed revolution. The Weather People, for instance. I knew several of those who eventually became weather people, and some I considered friends. I used to argue with them, however, because I thought they were just dreaming when they thought that the US was ready for a revolution. They wanted to be the armed vanguard of the revolution, but they were just foolish, and their foolishness turned them into criminals. Change is possible—usually too slow and not enough, I grant that, but perhaps better than most revolutions, which, after all, don’t have a great track record.

Trump isn’t even the disease, he’s just a symptom. The disease is the capitalist system that produces a permanent underclass while assuring them that they are in a country that gives everyone equal opportunity. The media lets us know on a regular basis that there are people who were born in poverty but overcame the odds and are rich. That requires either talent, superior intelligence, or luck, frequently a combination of the three. And, the average person doesn’t have that advantage, or the advantage of being born on third base. So, the people who are still giving it their all and keep striking out have the general idea that the game is rigged against them, and no clear idea as to exactly why or how that happened. They get mad about it, don’t know who to blame, and Trump told them that it wasn’t their fault (probably the only true thing he ever said) and he would fix it ( probably the biggest lie).

I think most voters know Biden cares about all Americans, and has proved that with the legislation he has brought.

Talk about distraction, what happened to deaths from cardiovascular disease and cancer?

I would not be at all surprised if such a document were classified top secret. Secrecy is all too convenient in crippling that pesky idea of democracy.

Ok, it’s a comic, but drug abuse isn’t even in the top ten causes of death in the US. Suicide is #10, but depression is only a partial explanation. As usual, Rall is off the wall—and not in a good way.

I like this, lol. I can see some of my comments reflected in this toon. Obama had a win with the ACA, but deferred to Congress more than he should have. The stimulus of 2009 was nowhere near enough, leading to a slow recovery

Biden’s done better imo, but he’s got some big decisions ahead. The House is going to be all circuses, no bread for the next two years. Can Biden break through the distractions? We’ll see.

Citizens’ top concerns are money problems, crime and healthcare?

    ===

Anyone who paid attention to the last election(s) knows that the top concerns were Hunter’s Laptop, inflation, and open borders, and especially how the previous election was ‘rigged’ and was stolen from the Stable Genius.

Oh, and THE DEFICIT!!!!!! which was almost zero until Build Back Better components were passed.

    .

Now that the election’s over, the biggest issues are still Hunter’s Laptop and the wide open borders and the price of eggs has replaced the price of gas.

Ever increasing wealth inequality was and is never mentioned.

Health care may be mentioned in passing.

100% of crime was totally caused when someone said to Defund The Police. And Antifa.

And 1/6/2021 no longer exists and those who wanted to investigate it, are going to have the sh!t investigated out of them.

Rall could ( I repeat, could ) point out that ‘maintaining and improving’ our form of government requires constant, honest effort by many of our citizens — it doesn’t “just happen!”

And somewhere out there in the stars

    A keen-eyed look-out

    Spied a flickering light

    Our last hurrah

    Our last hurrah

And when they found our shadows

    Grouped ’round the TV sets

    They ran down every lead

    They repeated every test

They checked out all the data on their lists

    And then, the alien anthropologists

    Admitted they were still perplexed

But on eliminating every other reason

    For our sad demise

They logged the only explanation left

This species has amused itself to death

No tears to cry, no feelings left

This species has amused itself to death

    -Roger Waters

Ted has a classified document! This needs a full investigation, or a pass, depending on whether he’s a Democrat or Republican, respectively.
