Count your eggs before they get scrambled. 2023 economics.

They may be raiding pigeon nests.

If the price of eggs is up, then Brutus should also be paying more for them.

I don’t blame Brutus for complaining at all. My last trip to the store I had to pay nearly $4.00 for a carton of 12 Jumbo eggs.

You could also ask for them to be … once-over-easy!!!

Can you divide a yolk into thirds?

Yes prices for eggs are crazy lately, and it’s easy to blame politics, but I have the feeling is more price gouging than anything else at this point.

I ordered the 3 egg omelette Sunday morning and the waitress ran my credit!

they could be small sunny side up eggs… perhaps you should ask for something else besides eggs… or suggest um… something bigger then chicken eggs. ya, I’m not helpful. :}

Brutus is getting smart. Real smart. Now give him 4 and confuse the issue.

I have been selling my chickens fresh eggs for $3.50 for about 20 years and recently upped it to $4 and nobody complains because they are worth it.

Someone I know decided a while back to start raising chickens for meat and eggs. Having grown up on a farm, I cautioned him they were a lot more work than it seemed and then the smell of the, um, waste could be problematic. He decided to raise them anyway and about 6 months later, disposed of the chickens, got rid of the coop and borrowed my power washer to get rid of the rest of the, um, mess.

I predict we will never again see egg prices under a dollar/dozen.

3 Eggs for a meal. That means 4 meals to a carton. $1 a meal, add toast and its still a cheap breakfast. Or is that cheep cheep cheep? I suggest that Brutus start having Gladys make breakfast for him or is scrambling eggs a bit beyond her reach?

Though the eggs are more expensive, they seem to be larger than they were in the past. Maybe that’s my wild imagination working, again.

Fool Brutus once but not twice….he wants to count the yolks….on them!

Careful Brutus. Beyond Eggs? Impossible Eggs?

There are different sizes of eggs. Most of us get the large or extra large but there are medium also. I could be they used smaller eggs do hold down costs. (although it costs the same to ship a dozen medium eggs compared to a dozen large eggs and shipping and handling are a large part of the cost.

Get even by ordering the French toast, pancakes or waffles made with eggs with a side of bacon…..

Good for you, Brutus. Although I hate eggs with runny yolks.

Ohio here: No shortage or price gouging here. I pay $2 a dozen for eggs – same as I did 10 years ago, from a farm down the road.

Trust but verify. Nice one Brutus. The last couple days show Brutus displaying an increasing and admirable amount of backbone!

I like my eggs sunny side up with a soft yolk…

When traveling a lot, I occasionally went to McDs. I’d order the “Big Breakfast.” I found I’d have to ask for the “whole eggs” option, or I’d likely get cheated.

Hope those eggs are all they’re cracked up to be.

For sure, the Easter egg season will be affected this year.

That would work if they are not double yolk eggs.

We started using medium eggs instead of large, gotta keep up with the times…

Don’t count on it (pun intended), Brutus, one could be a “double yolk-er”!

My brother stopped at a farm to get eggs and asked if I wanted some.  I told him I’d take an 18-pak and unbeknownst to me he got the double yolks.  When I saw that with the first one I had a double yolk I took a picture and sent it to him.  He didn’t respond.  The next day… a double yolk again!  I sent another picture and said “Another double yolk!”  He responded “I hope so. They should all be double yolks, I paid extra for them!”  I told him “it’s a good thing you finally told me because you’d be getting sixteen more pictures of eggs with double yolks!”

I was told by someone formerly in the restaurant business that they will often buy double-yolk eggs so that they could count each as two. They may cost more individually, but by the yolk it was less expensive. And it’s really not that bad for the customer – you get about 2 medium eggs’ worth from one jumbo double.
