It could be said that “For Pluggers, medicine caps are not only CHILD PROOF but also ADULT PROOF” ;/

Pluggers need pliers.

Pluggers run on meds, or rather they think they need them.

Med bottles no problem … Tis the seal of glass jars that is an issue for me ! Have used channel-locks to open many a jar for the first time ;-)

I used to run hot water over metal jar lids that were stuck. Now I get better results by tapping all around the side of a stuck metal jar lid with a spoon.

For weeks I had a jar of pickles I couldn’t open. I tried hot water, knocking the lid with a table knife. I saw this trick some where. Take the pointed end of bottle/can opener and slip it under the edge of lid. Push down to pry it just enough to loosen the lid. It work for me.

One trick to open a lid on a new jar: turn the jar sideways, and roll the lid on the countertop, firmly pressing down at the same time. Turn the jar right side up, and the lid opens much easier. My dad taught me that a LONG time ago.

adult-proof caps??

Ask for non-childproof caps.

I rip the child-proof tabs off my Listerine bottle with a pliers.

Or Amazon.

Good thing it wasn’t the cap on the sedative bottle. I always order my medications without the child-proof caps.

My pharmacy has a note on my file to not use child-proof caps on my medications as there are no children in my house.

I just let my grandson open the tough ones for me…..easy-peasy.

As someone else touched on,there are childproof caps made to turn upside down making them non-childproof. I save lids from empty nonprescription supplements to use in replace of the childproof ones. It’s also more decorative.

Also for opening all packages these days.

Or as my ex calls them, “those kidproof lids that no one over age 4 can open.”

This is making my hands ache! :)

And the jars and bottles we struggle to open.

Don’t even get me started on shrink wrap crap

I was struggling to open a bottle of CBD gems on the bus on my way home. A young man reached down, said, “Here, let me” opened the bottle and handed it back. I was so grateful, then I realized how silly I seemed allowing a stranger to touch my med bottle while I’m on the bus wearing a mask. I shrugged, popped two in my mouth, swallowed some water and pulled my mask down.. smiling at my silliness.

Just learned today of the end of Rick’s other strip (Mt. Pleasant with Kent Sligh- I load up the site here Sundays and go back a week). For some reason, the news is nowhere to be found here as the strip has since been completely removed so I had to search the internet for what happened. Sorry to hear it didn’t work out with declining newspaper relevance. I’m disappointed though it doesn’t remain here in archived form, but I’m sure Rick and Kent have their reasons.

Any pharmacist will provide you easy-to-open bottles on request. If you prefer spraining your aging wrists, that’s your choice.

We have some of the shelving “paper” which is rubber (plastic) to grip the shelf and keep from moving. Pieces of it are the best thing to grab lids of any type to open them. I keep a small piece in the pocket of the cover of my mixer (why there? – well, would you forget such an unusual place and easy to grab it out) to use to open jars and bottles.
