At least Katy remembered. Cute kid(but watch what she tells you to do-which is very likely).

Heck – its just another day.

Though husband will probably have to listen to me recite the parts I remember from the part I had in the second grade class play about February and my part was about St Valentine himself.

Could be worse. “Valentine’s Day” is today, dad. What did you get for mom?"

    “Double-Gasp!”

Funny how nobody ever asks Mom what she got Dad. Which is typically nothing.

Had our V-Day dinner Saturday, because snow is forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Ain’t safe to drive in the snow here. Too many folks in monster trucks and SUVs with magically 4×4. Also, they lack a basic understanding of friction and momentum.

My wife said if I treated her like a queen every day of the year, I didn’t have to worry about Valentines Day. Works for me! And her!

She’ll do what lots of women do and send herself a dozen roses to her work place.

Good thing you have those little reminders around the house. Too bad she waited until the 11th hour to remind you.

He sits in front of his computer 90% of the time – there is ZERO excuses that he didn’t know when VDay is.

Husband came from a big present family – both in terms of the size of the present and the importance of giving/getting one – but they never did anything together for Valentine’s Day – his dad would buy jewelry for his mom (she received jewelry for every occasion), but that was it.

Valentine’s Day was a big deal in my family when I was growing up. Dad would come home from work early (meaning in time for dinner not late night) and we would have dinner and exchange cards. Possibly if he had gone to a client who sold chocolates we would each get some.

I remember the last Valentine’s Day with my family – by that time I was married as was my middle sister (of the three of us). I should explain that I was the daughter (no brothers) most like my dad in temperament and thought. He gave each us of a card and the usual small box of candy from his client. Husband was there, as was my then only brother in law. I opened my card and dad had written in it “You are my favorite daughter.” Now, I had always thought this, but could not see him putting it in writing.

The thought then struck me that he probably wrote this in each of the three cards. Sure enough I saw my sisters trying to see each others – and my – cards. Yes, that what was he had done.
