We had Stouffers Spinach Souffle often when I was a kid, I liked it.

This is yet another strip that Bill Watterson claimed he had lots of complaints about. Another example, of course, is the one where Calvin fantasised about being a bomber pilot and bombing his own school.

They got it from the Chinese place in the run down strip mall. It’s called Wuhan Whoopie.

After looking at the largest panel, The Count now has an ear worm of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”. No kidding and not complaining.

I felt that way about creamed spinach years before Calvin came along.

I walked into a buffet once that had green stuff like this and red stuff too. No idea what the stuff was and didn’t want to find out.

Absolutely hilarious! Love it!!

To this day, 52 years after his birth, younger son will not eat green vegetables and most fruits. Don’t know why. Could never convince him, even to improve his health that now needs the help, to add them to his diet. Go figure.

My parents tried the hackneyed “there are starving kids overseas.” Being a 7 year old at the time and feeling smart-alecky, I asked for a box so as to send the English peas to them. That earned me a few extra chores.

That’s what I heard, as a child !

Would’ve been a GREAT comic without those last two panels!! :) :) :) :)

A really funny take-off on The Blob movie 1958 and its follow-ups in 1972 and 1988. Probably would have made a better movie if this scene had been included. Special effects would have been awesome.

It may just be my imagination; but, I think we’re seeing a bit of Bill’s dark side. Boogie, boogie, boogie.

The green blob has better table manners than Calvin. It knows how to use a knife and fork.

One of the essential elements of a good diet is variety. If you want to make a cabaret out it, you can go hungry. This, also, is variety.

My mother raised 8 children and always made two choices for dinner – take it or leave it.

STOP DANCING! You two dancing leads to gene mixing, and you’ve seen what that combination produces…

Let me guess, they have no shoes either.

I used to use the beginning of this one with my students with disabilities. I asked them to caption each panel. They loved it! (I left off the last 4 panels).

Let him starve. . .or feed him something he likes- – all the time (only).

LOL at the next to last panel! But the Sunday strips are once again out of sync with how they originally ran. They skipped one last month.

Mom didn’t know how to cook vegetables. She’d boil squash to death, resulting in something with less texture that glop

This is one of my tip-top favorite C&H strips. Maybe the very top one—that “plutch splutch blutch” is an unbeatable bonus.

When I serve my daughter broccoli (with butter and lemon juice on it) she scarfs it up and would love to join in the dance! How many of YOUR kids would wanna do that???

The flora loves people. The people ARE Soylent Green!!!

I can on worry about the books and movies Calvin is ‘consuming’.
