Interesting that the year of the thought treason act in G.B. Has 3 of the numbers from 1984. I fear that USA is headed that way – following Canada – if the vocal minority keeps shouting down common sense beliefs.
According to the everything2.com website, there is nothing about “imagining” or even about the Queen specifically in the Act. RBION has misstated things rather badly here, IMO. Snippet from that site:

What it actually says is, “compass, imagine, invent, devise, or intend”, and “imagine” originally didn’t originally mean, “visualize in the mind’s eye”, but “plot or plan”. Legal authorities of the time are quite clear that the Law has nothing to say about what you merely think, because it doesn’t know.
