(I just got the Kindle version of The Illustrated Gormenghast Trilogy: 100 Unseen Illustrations. I had traded away my 1968 Ballantine paperback versions decades ago, but the whole trilogy on Kindle was too cheap to pass up. I happened to read a page or two where the cook is introduced and enjoyed that, so re-reading after 50 years is a real possibility.)
