Long John Silver is a fictional character and the main antagonist in the novel Treasure Island (1883) by Robert Louis Stevenson. The most colourful and complex character in the book, he continues to appear in popular culture. His missing leg and parrot, in particular, have greatly contributed to the image of the pirate in popular culture. (For your information)

.Why did Linus just stay there and wait to be kicked in the head? And, after the kick, why doesn’t the momentum of the kick send Snoopy flying head first onto Linus? Yeah, yeah, I know, comics physics.

We haven’t seen Linus in a while. It’s good to see Linus has gotten cast to appear in today’s comic strip. You gotta get a leg up in show business or the show dog will become the star. And he’ll show you stars!

Poor Linus … he has to take it from all sides. Linus, I think a call to Foghorn Leghorn will solve your Snoopy abuse problem .. and it will be fun to watch!

When I first read the reference to “Long John Silver” in today’s comic, I was confused and was wondering what this has to do with a greasy fish restaurant chain. By the way, is the Long John Silver’s chain still around? The two around here have been gone for a long time.

I once knew people who had a Dalmatian named Silver. It didn’t seem appropriate until they showed me that one of his spots covered one eye.
