spring never settles around here, it’s kind of a weird mixture of extended winter then sometimes “typical spring” maybe then sometimes summer starts too early.

And then you catch hay fever. And now you have one more reason to hate spring.

When I was a kid, the best part of Spring was going outside right after a heavy rain and stepping on the worms.

Spring? Not here. 26 deg F this morning, still snow on the ground. May finally warm up this week.

When winter ends, we get about a week of spring temperatures, followed by a return to winter, then tornadoes, then winter again, then three days of nonstop rain, and then it’s too hot outside.

It’s still pretty cold around here. Climate change is really affecting our seasons.

To me, spring is basically allergy season. I get to be miserable and have more sinus trouble than usual. Yippee.

Ah-ha! I have only recently begun reading Crabgrass and, in the daily strips, I was wondering why the one kid’s dad’s new TV looked like one I would have had in the mid-late 90s or early 00s. The gaming system the kids are playing today looks retro and that appears to be a VCR on top of the TV.

The only thing I ever liked about snow was when school was called off—-NOT because I didn’t like school—-okay, for the record, I usually did not like school, BUT, very much unlike far too many of life’s other evils, school IS necessary. Everybody knows, it’s a given fact of life, it’s as inevitable as death and taxes, sooner or later you have to go to school. So even when, as a result of school being postponed during the winter, the end of the school year in mid-June was extended, that was okay. Heck, even if there was school on June 18th, Paul McCartney’s birthday, even that was OK, because—-now I know this is going to be redundant, I apologize in advance, but just this once I need the extra emphasis—-I was forced outside against my will a little less often in the wintertime than in the springtime, which made school in the springtime okay, since, after all, in order to get to and from school you have to go outside anyway, so sometimes, when school was cancelled during the winter, it meant one more day indoors for me. For me, there’s only I counted, eight reasons to ever be outside, by far the most common, moreso than all the other seven put together, Point A to point B. The other seven, in no particular order: if the building’s smoke alarms go crazy on their own, finding out if anyone else in the neighborhood lost their power, visiting neighborhood pets (that’s my favorite reason to be outside), taking out the garbage, taking out recyclables, after lunch walk, and Harry Casper (that’s my stage name). Other that all that, I’m just naturally an indoors kind of person. Unfortunately I got stuck with a mother who violently demanded that such a preference be classified as a felony. That’s why, every time I watch a ballgame, especially when it’s baseball, especially when it’s during the weekend, and especially when it’s on a warm sunny day, I’m getting back at her.

I’ve still got an Atari 2600 here. Next to the PC that houses my Elder Scrolls/Skyrim first person RPGs.

I STILL believe this comic strip deserves to be animated..May the day come and I’d love to see it in 1-D with actual children doing the voices of all the kids
