Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
No original art link this time. (The 1923 art is text-free as it appears the cover of World Traveler Magazine.)
Instead, I’m posting a link to a new podcast I did as a guest on Mark Severino’s wonderful Barks Remarks – a Carl Barks Podcast. This time we discussed in depth one of Barks’ all-time great stories, “A Flip Decision,” frequently known as “Flipism!”
I would wager that Frank has never “groomed” a child. I would also wager that way too many communities have clergy or team coaches or others working with children who are indicted in several child abuse multiple times each year
oooh, Carl Barks! Growing up you would never know the artist of those Walt Disney Comics and Stories because, as we found out later, Disney had a policy of not naming the guy who did it. We all knew the good stories of those reprints in the 60’s were by the intelligent story and delicious artwork. The others were so-so and many times we didn’t bother reading them. It was until I read the Overstreet in the late 70’s with Carl Barks being featured that I realized who it was. And I started to collect his works (mostly reprints). I had to google the story online to finally recognize the “Flip Decision” story, and as usual, it was a Barks’ classic.

Not just any guy could pull off that outfit as well as Frank, let alone dance in it. Frank got talent.
