My sister died of cancer last year. I didn’t appreciate her when we were children and thought she was clingy as she shadowed me everywhere I go. Eventually we grew apart because I kept pushing her away. Now as an adult I realized how stupid I was to not appreciate a sibling who would love nothing more than to spend her every waking hour playing with me and doing things I loved to do.
Miles and Kevin once wondered what they would do if they had a time machine. Today I know what I wanted to do: go back in time to yell at my child self for being so stupid.
I remember a friend’s younger sister asking me why I had no siblings when I was about 9-10. When it was explained that I just didn’t because some families just have one kid, she asked when my mom would have another baby. I was like “Uh… probably never.”
More recently, a teacher in my culinary class has randomly asked me at least twice if I had siblings. When I said I didn’t, she said I “just seem like the kind of person who has siblings”… whatever that means.

And Calvin wished he had a younger sibling (so he can bully it and teach it who’s boss).

Stop at two, at least you can play man-to-man. Zone defense doesn’t work.
