Knew a woman who had a baby book of her daughter so thick she had multiple rubber bands holding everything in it. It started with 20 photos of her ten hour labor. THEN she discovered scrapbooking. On one page was a piece of Kleenex from her daughters first cold. I kid you not!

Mom will always be your biggest fan.

Notice Alice’s rapt attention as she takes in Marcus’s sad tale of parental idolized woe.

I have my great-grandmother’s scrapbook from the birth of my grandma. Beautiful vintage handwriting detailing everything for the first two pages… then nothing more. Looks like being a mom took more time than she expected!

Alice can’t pump!

Poor Marcus. If any of these kids is going to become the next Petey, it’s him.

Good Grief

I had a deranged fan once. It was in my computer and made a loud screeching noise.

Addictions take many forms; but can only be broken when the addicted want to stop. Court ordered, family pressure, just ads to their determination to continue, like all bad habits easy to start hard to stop and easy to reinstate.

Next scene, father with bolt cutters removing the swing seat for the scrap book.

On the other hand, Marcus, if you ever go into politics, those scrapbooks will be useful proof you never did anything interesting/controversial.

I don’t know about the cult of the child, but I am firmly in the camp of Cult Cul de Sac. Also, this is when one of those big sticks would come in handy. They help you keep your distance from sticky fingers and impending tantrums.

Alice needs to learn the “Pendulum” method of self propulsion.

Alice is still learning and no one shows her how yet.

Mother of Marcus! What a ghastly upbringing for the poor guy. Where are the Firemen of Fahrenheit 451 when you need them, Marcus?

They are what is referred to as ‘Helicopter Parents’ and they are NOT doing the child any good. Children have to have some freedom to mature or they remain tied to ‘Mothers Apron Strings’ until way past their adulthood. (25+++)
