The staff of our local newspaper is no longer local and there’s no local news in it except for obituaries. If it wasn’t for the obits and the comics I’d drop the digital version too.
It all too many cases it went from “All the news that fits” to “All the bad grammar and misinformed or politically slanted ‘reporting’ that is just the opinions of the advertisers from out of state or even out of the country that we can cram into about 10 pages including all the ads and the past 3 weeks of obits”
What do people use to line their bird cage or wrap their fish? I too, canceled my local newspaper because it got too costly and had shrunk up to almost nothing.
Will Rogers (1879-1935) was known to say, "All I know is what I read in the papers.” Today, he’d be directed to a website, a podcast, or a tweet; in other words, he would be (as we used to say) SOL.

Maybe when America was Great Again.
.
O’ course, that was when tax revenue from businesses was about 50% of tax revenue, not about 33% like it is now.

“everything everywhere all at once” is called the Internet. Paper is the name for the Dead Tree Storage Method.

And I weep at their slow demise, all because today’s generation, and probably the one before it, prefer Facebook and Twitter.
