I really don’t want to explain the economics of the 1990’s and the dot com bubble.

You need not go to the 1990’s just look at what Joe Biden has done to our country , and he is not done yet : (

I worked at one of the early .coms. The president and cfo were old-school thinkers who thought by old economy rules. They busted their humps to shuffle the books and make us the first .com to turn a profit. And the market hated that.

It’s a good thing we wised up and quit falling for dot-com failures, and started falling for crypto scams instead.

    .

Is there something about the combination of the words “get rich quick” that just short-circuits the human brain?

Back then, small-timers would offer to trade you “links” on their site for something of actual value.

So “ramping up” didn’t even increase online sales.

I remember during the dotcom boom that many people were saying with a straight face that making a profit or at least breaking even wasn’t necessary.
