I love this teacher. I’m glad that Liz has her to confide in.

Miss Edwards was in love? And did the object of her affection dump her after she became paralyzed?

Well that’s an explanation I never thought of. Being in love drives you insane. You lose all conscious control and no memory of any feelings of pain. Just like being knocked out under general anesthesia.

Still think Liz is ‘dumbfounded’, i.e., the look on her face in the 3rd frame ! ! !

There is no being “in love” at age 14.

Yeah. So why would your good friend want to spoil that. Right?

For those who are succumbing to the “OMG!! The world is ending!! Here comes AI.” This is exactly the kind of thing that AI can’t do. AI is a software program, it is NOT received wisdom from the Almighty. It has bugs, it can and will be hacked, it has built in bias. AI results should always be checked by the user for suitability, and relevance. It is not very good at finding its own errors.

For those of a certain age remember “Mmmmaxx Headrrrroooom.”

What Miss Edward said was true. When you’re in love (or infatuated) the world is a much different place and the people that are nearest (and dearest) to you are not even thought about. All that matters is the one and only love. Then, after you come out of it, those that are closest have lost patience with you and moved on – just like Dawn in this case.

In time Elizabeth, you will learn to treat love more like a local anesthetic instead of a full blown comatose state of life.

Then I guess flat-earthers don’t believe in love, cuz it’s what makes the world go round.

A conversation like this between a teacher and student would get the teacher fired in many states today. Especially if Liz had a crush on Dawn.
