This is a case where “ignorance… or maybe ignorness… really IS bliss”, Most folks find it easier to ignore someone who’s not where they are. So they move away.

Really, as a future evil overlord you need a genius scientist devoted to you.

Either he likes you, or he is waiting for you to leave so he can have some quite time with the bee.

Kate should know better than to answer a \sigh\ from Danae.

Well, Kate still thinks you’re OK, as does the juvenile in the tree; it’s called ‘love’, Danae.

Danae is afraid of getting cooties.

Sounds like they already know about the boys and the bees.

Kate’s eyes are a very good example of an addicted reader. Narrow focus, concentrated gaze. But still able to respond to external irritations.

Ignorance may eventually work (on boys and chatty sisters and other people who annoy you) but it usually requires lots of patience and persistence and self-control and it might involve pain and suffering.

Be grateful she’s not Opal in today’s Pickles strip.

“Hey, Sis, I’m enjoying a book right now! You’d benefit from doing the same thing.”

Ignoring people with ridiculous comments takes practice but in the end can be very rewarding.

At that age we would hang around the girls for a while, but if there wasn’t any activity we had to move on to playing ball, riding bikes, hiking, fishing, or one of the many things that we did as young boys.

Kate is far more frightening than Danae : D

You think boys buzz around and are pesky now, Dear, wait 10-12 years….

Apparently, boys are more like birds. I finally get that metaphor. :)

Boys, dey bee boys…

I can put up with a protracted conversation. The thing that drives me nuts is when I’m in the middle of something that requires concentration and I get interrupted every 5 minutes, usually with something completely unurgent.
