Yep. Most people expect others to have the same level of knowledge and understanding that they do. If someone else doesn’t understand something we do, it’s common to call them an idiot. If someone understands something we don’t, it’s common to dismiss them as an arrogant know-it-all. Either way, we treat them with disdain.
