Isn’t he carrying the cell phone in the first panel? Are we to assume he went in after it? Maybe he’s just yanking her chain? My need for instant gratification hates cliff-hangers.

Local paper, when I was young, was an evening edition, except Sunday. Changed to a morning edition. Now, USPS delivers the paper. It’s an evening edition, again.

I guess someone will need a new cellphone!

Fun fact: most new cell phones are waterproof to the standard of 30 minutes under one meter of water. The name of this standard is “IP-67,” indicating it will also survive a drop into the toilet after a Number One. To survive a drop following a Number Two, the phone has to meet the standard called “IP00-67.”

If this had been the only comic on the subject it might have been okay. The week long lead up with everyone predicting the outcome was rough.

I think Ole Crank is just jerking her chain…….imagine that…..the comic is framed in Crank’s generation not the generation of the “outhouse”.

Is the next part this story Ed sanitizing his phone, or, him going to his service provider’s store, and, trying to explain non specifically what happened?

Whoo hoo, I predicted this. Along with 143 other people I’m sure. It’s not like you needed Nostradamus like powers to see it coming.

to be fare it is easier to hold on to a large soft item like a newspaper than it is to hold on to a small slick item like a phone.

As all good students of comic strip comedy are aware, the rule known as Chekhov’s Phone states that “A cell phone introduced in Wednesday’s strip must be dropped in a WC by Saturday’s installment.” To all of you who saw this coming…my heart bleeds for you. Truly, the only thing that should have been dropped down the pipes was this story before it went to press.

I didn’t have to shape like I do the paper to use it.

I’ve never understood how people do this.

I work at a concert venue. We had a woman drop her phone in a port-potty. She went in after it. I don’t know if it worked when she found it…
