Weâve had nice warm weather for the past few days, but tomorrow is trash day, so of course 40 tp 50 MPH winds are predicted. And temps 20 degrees cooler next week. Is it just us or is the weather weird this year?
From yesterdayâs comments, daleandkristen said, âI laughed at your comment. LKâs brother might go for the FREE drinks and then have to spend $5 for the antidoteâŠ.or is he too cheap to spend $5?â
Yes, he is too cheap. Case in point â back in the âolden daysâ when gas stations were full serve, John and another of my brothers were having gas put in the car. The gas pump clicked off a penny before any gas was put in the car. John shouted at the attendant, demanding not to have to pay that penny. They gave him his precious penny. The other brother (I think it was Daniel who told me about this) was totally embarrassed at Johnâs outburst, but John honestly felt he was justified in biting off the attendantâs head for trying to rob him of a penny. Nobody âstealsâ a penny from him and gets away with it!
I have a question. Or actually, a series of questions. Iâm working on a sequel to my book Wanda Weird. In this story, their old dog (almost 14 years old) gets cancer and dies. After a while, the family decides to go to a shelter to get another dog. This was after Wanda had a dream that she saw Brownie in Heaven and he told her there was a dog in the shelter who needed them. Well, I have never adopted from a shelter. I get enough cats dumped on me so I donât remember the last time my number of cats was in the single digits. So, I wonder if anyone here has experience in this? What is it like? Do you fill out paperwork first? I know you have to fill out some sort of application. They canât give pets to just anyone. They have to check you out first to make sure youâll give them a decent home. Do they let you look over the dogs by yourselves, or do they sort of hover over you while youâre looking (being available to answer questions, etc.). Suppose you choose the dog youâre interested in. Do they let it out of the cage or kennel for you to pet? Or do they take you into a different room and bring the dog to you for you to get acquainted with it? After you decide which dog you wish to adopt, what is the usual waiting period before you can take the dog home? If you have a good record from the vet showing you give excellent care to your pets, can that shorten your wait time to adopt? Anything you can tell me about the process of adopting from a shelter will help me because Iâm a little stalled at the point where theyâre at the shelter.
We got home two hours ago. Everything is unpacked, put away and laundry was started. All of my online things like banking is done. Brad took the truck to get it washed. It was nice and chilly with a mist when we left at 4 this morning. We came home to âpretty darn warmâ and I donât like it.I want my ocean and grey/overcast weather back. If I scrawl it on the wall like Chesney did, will I get my way? Didnât think so.
Iâm surprised Chesney didnât write anything derogatory about Annie. I have to admit, thatâs a lot more tasteful than a lot of graffiti out there. On another note, saw eight robins, two sparrows, a chickadee, and a raven while out walking today.

I see Chesney left the loading dock. If you go home, Chesney, you will probably be fed and petted.

Keep it up, Chesney, and you will end up in the hoosegow for graffiti on the wall. At least they will feed you âŠâŠ not sure about the petting.
