Hammie should paint one that says, “Believe it or not, my sister is worse.” It’ll be payback for Zoe and it’ll frame Zoe, as it might be taken that she is talking about Wren.
This appears to be only a funny comic but actually on a deeper level, the writer is showing how cursing is intrinsically ingrained in our DNA. As young innocents, we all used mild invectives like the above-mentioned “stinky butt” and farthead and buttbrain. Eventually we all move on to the real deal which, thanks to things like pay-TV and some rap music, arrives at a younger age every year. That and dads everywhere who knowingly or not, let fly George Carlin’s 7 dirty words every time some household chore vexes them.
We have a small collection of painted rocks, from the little girl who lives across the street. She loves our 2 dogs and 2 cats and her parent have pet allergies so we are a favored place to visit. She has brought us many painted rocks that she has made when she comes over for kitty, puppy play time.
A local rock painter left a basket full of rocks, in our Chemotherapy waiting room, painted with beautiful scenery and with inspirational words. I picked out one with a painting of our Redwood trees and another that said, “Don’t give up.” I held that rock and caressed it often. I stopped to talk to a young mail carrier trainee at my door and found out he is the only one of his family to not indulge in drugs, alcohol (a Brother died from an overdose and another in prison). He is determined to finish school and succeed in life. I gave him the “Don’t give up” rock and I pray for him daily.

How would Zoe know, unless she follows him around, sniffing? Is she a dog? Hmmm.. Maybe!

Not exactly an “Interesting Thought”. Universal truth maybe, “All kid brothers are stink butts”.
