Conga-rats, Maxx! Don’t be afraid to live your truth. You are the one who has to live with herself. No one can do it for you. I hope you find it easier to live in your skin now. I hope you have people to whom you can turn for advice about living your new life. Heck, I hope you have people who make you feel less alone.

My experience is not similar, as I merely had to tell my conservative parents that I’m bi. They didn’t even blink. Talk about anticlimactic! I have a thing for my matron of honor. Hubby knew before he proposed, and it doesn’t bother him.

Welcome Maxx! I am the mother to two transgender kids. When they came out to me, I told them that I love them, not their genitals, orientation, political affiliation, or religion. I worry about them. Always will I suspect. But…, What mother doesn’t worry about their kids? My nanny use to say “When kids are little they are always on your hands; when kids grow up, they are always on your heart.” Be happy and content. Get rid of mean people.

Very glad I enlarged my screen to read the fine print. Good luck to you! Just read this morning in the Washington Post: “I compare it to a sense of homesickness for a place you’ve never been. The moment you stepped onto those supposedly unfamiliar shores, though, you’d have a sense of overwhelming gratitude, and solace, and joy. Home, you might think. I’m finally home.” EXACTLY as it says in the last panel!

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet…. You were right when you told me in April that it would be a bumpy ride for Rabbit, but there was no way I wasn’t going on it. Now, I celebrate you and thank you for letting all of us readers share your journey. I thank you for your art & storytelling, too. I wish you peace; the deep, abiding peace that coming home brings.
