Mom, when it concerns the dress of your son, leave it to his dad. Not just the oboe, but the green tie is bad enough! Poor thing.

Black. When in doubt, always get black.

I had a leisure suit that color in the early ’70’s.

This reminds me of Garrison Keillor talking about his Aunt Ellie’s house that was so green that when you woke up in the morning, you could hear it.

The other musicians will not be green with envy.

It’s unlike Madeline to be so unaware of Petey’s tastes but then again she never gives up hope that he will enjoy swimming in the ocean (or lake, or pool…).

Poor Petey. Madeline is way out in left field with this one. What was she thinking? It borders on torture. I predict the stage will be rife with Peteys before the recital is over. Not even the antics of a purple festooned Alice will be able to distract from this beacon of ridicule!
