I love this story arc =) it’s so innocent and sweet and exactly the way I spent my summers (making up stories and scenarios to entertain myself)

OMG, she must have been putting on makeup, the horrors.

I never went through a “girl hating” stage in my childhood. At worst I just ignored them.

Now that I am grown up and old, I am glad there are women in the world and I am glad that I am not one of them. Whenever I hear of a women’s issue I add it to a list. Eventually, I will publish a book: 101 Reasons Why I’m Glad I’m Not a Girl. I think I already have more than 101 reasons.

I could probably do a whole chapter on bras.

I must have read this particular strip eight or nine times. How does it manage to still be funny (which it is) and give so much pleasure? I think it’s a combination of the expressiveness of the art and the freshness. Watterson used only a few themes, but he never really repeated jokes.

Suzie lives two doors down? I knew she was in the neighborhood but didn’t realize she lived that close to Calvin. They do seem to live on acre lots in this strip, so maybe “close” is a relative term.
