Are Leo and Dorothy the only pitchers on their teams? And do the JV baseball team and the varsity softball team have no pitchers at all? Or are all the other pitchers just a lot better than these two, so they don’t need this special ballet and blindfolds training?
I honestly thought that Kaz was back again in panel 1. The artwork in this strip does not help us follow what is going on with the fractured storyline. I think the artist can only draw four figures: Gil, Kaz, Mimi (Dorothy) and Leo (Tobe). All other characters are just variations of these.
Gosh, I’m on the edge of my set waiting to know the two reasons that made Greggg never forget the day he began losing his sight. Hmmm, #1, he got hit right between the eyes when the catcher threw the ball back and #2, it was the day his father went underground for his plagiarism deeds.
In a cruel twist of fate, Gregggggg silently films these two goofballs for posting online later and then sneaks away before they remove their blindfolds
P-1: Dorothy wins the Homer Simpson “Duh” contest.
P-2: The Catcher, like the rest of us, can’t believe what’s happening on the mound.
P-3: Greggg takes over as catcher and will now not only pitch blind, but catch blind. (Pease note: This genius has the girls’ softball pitcher throwing overhand.)
Since we are on the topic of Greggg Hammm didn’t he graduate last year? Is he so good (self-taught since he was on a Gil Thorp team) that he can come back and coach THE VERY NEXT YEAR STUDENTS THAT WERE TEAMMATES OF HIS THE PREVIOUS YEAR? In the real world (I know this is a comic strip) where would this happen? What does that say about the ability of Milford baseball/softball coaches. And since Gregggg was a baseball pitcher would he know anything about throwing a softball which is entirely different in mechanics?
If you think pitching while blind is impressive, how about catching while blind? And to top that, catching two balls at once while blind! And speaking of blind, you’d have to be blind to not appreciate today’s Mopped Up Thorp’

Ty: Be the ball Danny. Feel it. Just let everything go. I’ll stop talking, I’m not talking. THWACK!
Danny: Where it go?
Ty: Into the lumberyard.
The moral of the story is, this season’s plot has a lot of splinters in it.

Henry got tired of reading books about coaching and switched to medical journals. Check in tomorrow to see why Greggg went blind.
