At this point, I think a better lesson is ârespect natureâ. The kids will agree, be much happier, and there will be something to gain from it when they become adults.
Last year my family went on a short vacation to Michigan. I rented rooms online from this hotel on a lake. There was a porch all around the place that let you go from your room and right into the lake. It was quaint, but older. Anyway my sonâs wife took one look at it and refused to even get out the car. We ended up staying in some Best Western off of I-75 that had a pool.
Let me say that the ONLY reason I didnât refuse to move was because the rooms did smell of tobacco and my wife, after 40 years of smoking, has quit. The smell of old smoke makes her sick now. Thank goodness.

The trick is to do it more often than once a year, Adam. And start earlier in their lives.

Loved vacationing in northern Wisconsin, at a much younger age, swimming in the nearby creek and walking through the marshes.

Crawlies are the worst. Everything else just bites and hangs on. The crawlies move around and get into places. âŠshudder.

Back in the day, you frequented these swimming holes, because there were no swimming pools around at the time.
