The weather gurus are predicting Vegas’s first 100 degrees of the year tomorrow.. But not up here on the side of the mountain. Another reason to love Summerlin.

I think my tying strips of tin foil all over the front porch worked. No bird poop in evidence. It actually left bleached spots on the pavers. And yes I feel sorry, it’s safe and cool here, but come on!

NATIONAL OLD MAIDS DAY. Every year on June 4th, National Old Maid’s Day recognizes the women who never marry and remain childless. While the term may not seem to be flattering, less complimentary terms such as spinster, have been used to describe single, childless women for centuries. Well, I don’t consider myself old, let alone an old maid or spinster. I’m single by choice and I’m happy and satisfied with that choice.

Ha! I was feeding my cats their bedtime canned cat food about an hour ago (where has the night gone?) and while Panther had her back to me, I touched her! More than that, I got 4 full strokes down her back before she turned and saw that it was me touching her, not another cat. So, she moved away and would not turn her back on me again. But while I was stroking her, she arched her back in pleasure. This is how it started with Annie. I still can’t pet Annie all the time, but I can touch her almost every night when I feed the cats. So it’s only baby steps, but I can wait as long as it takes for them to warm up to me. I’m just so happy that the other former ferals, Cindy and Pebbles have become such lovebugs.

Hi All, MCTS has left a comment at Cleo and Company over at WordPress, please go there to see, I will not give the link or copy his response for obvious reasons! In short he was not informed about his banning, but it was due to the troll flagging his posting pics. If he can come back he won’t be posting pics as he will be banned again, he will try to be at C&C more, he thanks us for our concern. He will not do FB. What a shame, he will be greatly missed here and this site will be a little sadder, it’s as bad as losing one of our Kitties!!!

Little Oliver is just the sweetest kitten ever!

Well. The day I was dreading finally came. I went in to take care of the 8 hooligans this morning and found an entire roll of paper towels on the floor and shredded. Every single towel! Somehow they even managed to get some of into the linen closet! I know they bat small toys under the door but paper towels? And, when I filled their dry food bowl last night I emptied the bag but forgot to take it out of the room. It’s a good thing it was empty because it was on its side so at least one of them had been trying to get into it. (the bowl still had plenty of food so it wasn’t because they were hungry) When I opened the new bag this morning, it went into the linen closet and I locked that door. The food is $24 for 3.5 lbs so I can’t waste it. (It has a baby lock on it just because of this kind of thing)

Everybody needs flowers, Chesney. My irises are in full bloom, as is my bleeding heart. My peonies and roses should follow shortly. I can’t wait!

Not only that, but the grapes are probably sour.

I’ve put in an application for a dog at the animal care center. At the risk of angering GC, here’s who I’m hoping will be living with me by next week this time.

Aww, Oliver is so sweet. He’s everybody’s friend. (Even to those who are hard to get along with.) On another note, saw two damselflies, four butterflies, four robins, and two dragonflies while out walking today.
