This is a great backstory for Charlotte. I can understand why Kat is crying. I’m kinda crying, too.

This! A year earlier in college and out in the work force is not worth it. At all.

Charlotte is also smart enough to realize that she can educate herself, help her pals w/their I-don’t-get-it subjects & keep herself occupied, while the teachers teach to the middle-of-the-road-intelligence students.

You have a choice: Have friends and be the brightest kid in the class at your age level, or skip a grade and be an average student among kids a year older than you.

Having a true friend is the best gift you can ever receive.

Now I see why Charlotte want to stay with her friends. And agree. Right now she is acing it. Both academically and socially. not a time for boat rocking.
