Awww, they’re so cute looking, all passed out like that. If I ever see LMB like that, I’ll understand. For now he just dances around his bowl while we put food in it.

Thanks for your concern about my health you guys, I’m okay. I was born with it since it’s hereditary. I’ve known about it since I was a young lad. Putting the right name on it came in 1994 (CMT vs. MD or MS). DNA testing is the real clincher on getting the right diagnosis. My neurologist says I have a duplicate gene, which is what makes it Type 1a. (For KFG info, based on your statement from last night). 2007 was my first major flair when my legs wouldn’t work at all for a couple weeks. I have to take a muscle relaxer (xanaflex, 50mg) before I go to bed to keep the mega-Charlie horses at bay. I also take amitriptyline (25mg) for nerve pain. That’s all the attention I give it most days. As long as it doesn’t affect being a firefighter and paramedic, I’m okay with whatever happens. I’ve got some training time coming up in a few weeks and some of it will take me away from home. I’ve basically got a friend in every port to help me should things go awry when I travel. When I finally do have to give in, I’m going to be one very sad puppy. But that’s not anytime soon AND I’ll just play basketball from one of those sporty wheelchairs.

Just to show my true attitude, since tonight is my night off, Billy and I are playing basketball at GWU with a bunch of guys who try their best to take points from me. I arrive at the gym wearing my braces as usual, take them off, play hard until I get two 3-point shots (specifically) on top of my usual 16-18 points, and then head for the bench. Those shots could take me a half hour or over 2 hours, but that’s my goal for every game. They all know I’m in the game until I make my goal.

@KFG, looks like you’re getting the snow that we normally would get. Right now we have high winds (not the political kind lol) and no snow. The dogs found a way to wear themselves out. They seem to get along very well with each other, and learned the value of teamwork. :-)

I hope Cathy and Irving give the muttleys a treat after all that. Food box, huh? LOL

Mona you made Aaron turn all shades of red. His reply, when called a hero, is “Naw, I’m just humble lovable Shoeshine Boy”. Someone who knows about cartoons will know what he’s referring to. His fire captain, good at the quick comebacks, said “Mate, you are no Underdog.

The high point of my day is coming here, sometimes for nothing more than to see what’s on my bud’s mind at any given hour. His comments today just rock me. I’ve taken him for granted sometimes. At other times I just stand back with my mouth open, amazed and proud.

I don’t care what anybody says. This is the coolest place to come to. Who could come here in a bad mood and not find a smile slowly creeping across their face, or just laughing out loud at what goes on here?

for me, the wonderful thing about friday is that that’s the day that the british newspaper the daily telegraph displays its animal pictures of the week. sometimes as many as 30 or 40.

and then of course daily (365 1/4 days out of 365 1/4) i go to the zooborn site, where I get to see all kinds of newborn animals – and if you think a particular animal is cute, you should see the baby version – 1,000 times cuter!! Baby meerkats! otters! tiger cubs! etc.!! (the etcs. are the cutest). not only that, i have discovered that many unexpected animal babies are cute – rhinos, pygmy hippos – there’s something about the mother and the baby leaning against each other…

or a tiny baby bird whose mother is glaring at you as tho daring you to just try coming one step closer…

Poor Electra and Vivian! They were more hungry than tired at 7:30 pm when Cathy and Irving left on their date . . . now, 3-1/2 hours later at 11:00 pm, the poor little dears are completely worn out and they’re more tired than hungry! Our dog always gets fed before we leave for an occasional evening out and she also has access to her kibble bowl in case she’s still a little hungry while we’re gone. What on earth were these two thinking going out before they tended to their dogs’ needs first?!? Some people just aren’t meant to be blessed with the privilege of being owned by a dog!!!!!

Good evening, Aaron, Dr. Billy, lightenup, K.F.G., Susan, rgcviper, gmforde, lindz.coop, Mona, Hendelca, serenasakitty, RinaFarina, mimismom and all the REST of the “Cathy” fanatics joining us here tonight. Hey! Tomorrow’s Saturday! Have a great weekend everyone!

    :-)

Good evening fellow Cathyites! (although Cathy Nuts fits me quite well today).@mimismom and KFG – “forgret”! Now that is a word I can use often. I like to blame old age for my forgetfulness but I have never had a good short term memory – my long term is too good but what I was supposed to do today – not so good.I know I don’t post often enough to be missed but I will miss all you good people for the next week and a bit. It is time to go back to my hometown (a whole hour away) and spend the entire time inside a theatre setting up and running lighting and special effects for our annual local variety show. Lots of work but lots of fun – must be, this will be my 39th year doing it. I won’t get time to read comics until a week Sunday night.Anyhow, have a good weekend and take care of yourselves!

What a nice day I had. Granted my house, which was neat yesterday, is back to its usual mess because my purse needed cleaning out, but that’s fine. I had some “me” time today, which I desperately needed and I got some things done. (my toenails are now sparkly green… hee hee) All good…Tomorrow my 8 yo has a chess tournament (she says that she wants to be called lightenup jr., which I guess is appropriate because she’s a lot like me in many ways, for better or for worse), so I’ll try for a quick hello in the morning, but then won’t be back until they’re in bed. Chess tournaments are fun (in their own way), but are verrry long days. @ Aaron – You’re incredible, both in attitude and ability, and I’m sure you could kick a lot of people’s booties (my 6 yo’s favorite term) in many ways. I have my own health issues (not as much as you, but I still have challenges – darn it, KFG, study faster ;-)), so I can relate to a lot of what you say and you are totally awesome!! (hugs)@ Billy – You and Aaron are so sweet to read with your duel posts. We get both sides of the story, which is a lot of fun to read. I’m so glad you gave in to “pressure”, and joined us!! p.s. What exactly are people saying? We are the coolest place to come to because not only are we all funny, cool and nice, but we can also do synchronized eye rolls. Where else can you find that??@ RinaFarina – That sounds adorable! Can you post the website? I’ll search for it also…

Hi Cathyites!! Yup, this is definitely the coolest site to read comics. Let folks duke it out on the other sites.

Glad you had some “me” time today lightenup — we all need that sometimes.

Rina — have you seen the video of the mother bear getting her teeth cleaned (I think it’s somewhere in the Northeast) while one of the techies holds her 2 very tiny cubs. I was most amazed at the size of the babies.

My cats would all open the fridge door if they had the strength — cats don’t waste energy attacking, they have it all figured out and believe me, doors are no problem.
